OSRAM SYLVANIA is a leading manufacturer of precision tungsten rod products for use as electrodes in Gas Tungsten Arc-Welding (GTAW) also known as Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG). These electrodes are also used for Plasma Welding. OSRAM SYLVANIA electrodes are sold under the SYLVANIA brand name. All Sylvania tungsten electrodes comply with AWS Specification A5.12-98. Using high-quality tungsten is especially important in TIG/GTAW welding applications or a Plasma Arc Welding application where minimizing variables and getting good service life from your electrodes is imperative. This formula is a popular general purpose non-radioactive replacement for thoriated tungsten. Very similar in performance to 2% Lanthanated tungsten. Features excellent ignition/re-ignition properties and good service life. Sylvania GTP has long been the most respected name in tungsten electrodes and remains the only tungsten electrode brand to be made in USA.
